Independence support medical expenses (Psychiatric outpatient care) 自立支援医療費（精神通院医療）

Medical expenses are paid to those who are outpatients for treatment of mental illness.

■ Eligible people

Those who receive mental health services at a designated medical institution for independence support

 

■ Self-pay amount

In principle, 10% of medical expenses will be borne. However, the upper limit (monthly amount) of self-payment is determined according to the degree of illness or disability, income and tax situation.

 

■ How to apply

≪Documents to be submitted when applying for new certification≫

Independence support medical expenses (psychiatric outpatient) payment authorization application, medical certificate (for independence support medical care (psychiatric outpatient care)), health insurance card, etc.

■ Remarks

Medical care for independence support (psychiatric outpatient care) is issued by the prefecture via the city hall, but it takes about 3 months to receive it.
