Sending book vouchers to parents of elementary and junior high school students in the city (as a measure against rising prices) 市内小中学生の保護者に図書カードを送付 (物価高騰対策)

To support families with children in covering educational expenses amidst rising prices—including the cost of food—Nagahama City will be sending book vouchers (worth 5,000 yen) to the parents or guardians of elementary and junior high school students. This initiative is timed to coincide with "Book Week" (October 27 – November 9).

We believe that reading is a vital activity for children; it helps them acquire language, refine their sensibilities, enhance their ability to express themselves, and enrich their imaginations—all of which contribute to developing the capacity to live one’s life with agency and purpose.

※Book Week" runs from Tuesday, October 27, to Monday, November 9.

We encourage you to take this opportunity to purchase books that interest your child, and we hope these vouchers will help further enrich their learning experiences.

※This initiative is funded through the national government’s "Temporary Grant for Regional Revitalization and Priority Support in Response to Rising Prices."
